Life is like a backgammon game

Play it right, win the game!

I don't know! You might have never played it, you might have never even heard of it, or you may simply be an expert professional in it.

It's not a hard game to play though, only a few rules, a couple of dice, and a bunch of checkers with which you make your moves. Although, luck plays an important role, there is a large scope for strategy.

With each roll of the dice a player must choose from numerous options for moving his checkers and anticipate possible counter-moves by the opponent. If you make the right movements and choose the correct strategies, you'll end up having all your checkers in your home board perfectly aligned and eventually you are most likely to win the game. But if you make a wrong movement and just randomly play without anticipating a few further moves, you are going to have a hard time to catch-up for a single mistake you made or if you are silly enough not to realize your wrong move, you will be soon swamped all the way down and will have a big mess of checkers in your home board without any way to get out of this mess you made, and guess what? You so loose the game before you even know what happened! Most people are stupid enough to blame it on bad luck at this stage because if you don't play it right, no matter what you roll, you can't fit it in!

Now that you have the idea of how this game is played, doesn't it sound familiar to you? Does it not remind you of something that you deal with every single day? Isn't it just like the life you are living? So, why don't we stop blaming everything on fate or bad luck and start looking further and anticipating the counter-moves that this champion opponent of ours, called the world, is going to make. Why don't we try to change our strategy and use a different approach to the game we are laying if the current one doesn't seem to make us a winner?
